Look beyond your commission check and make friend first. In my experiences as a Sales Person, notwithstanding the industry in which you practice it is always best to develop a friendly relationship with clients first. People are always more trusting and willing to do business with others who they feel are not just about the business. Show the client that your interest lie beyond the boundaries of your commission check and you commission check will indeed grow.
